The silver coin from the series "The Greatest Shipwrecks of History" is dedicated to the frigate "Vasa." This ship was conceived by King Gustav II Adolf of Sweden as the most formidable ship of that time, it was assumed that it should have the most modern weapons, that it should exceed all the ships available in Sweden and the Baltic region. For its production, 1000 oak trees were cut down, many decorations and decor elements were poured and minted. Gunsmiths made many bronze cannons, monitors and spare barrels for Vasa. Even during its construction, the ship received the title of "royal ship," since the king himself monitored its construction and equipment. The ship was built and launched on its first trial trip, but...
Due to an error in the design, the Vasa sank a few minutes after launching.
